Bbq Lasagna

Right about now, you are probably wondering, what in the World is this Chef talking about. . .BBQ Lasagna? It’s not that much of a stretch. I guarantee that if you follow along, you will see that this recipe not only makes sense but is amazingly delicious. Lets think outside the lasagna box. . .so to speak and get creative.

The principal focus of the dish is that the meat. When making my BBQ Lasagna, I like to use chopped or shredded pork instead of ground beef. BBQ pork is something everyone is familiar with and is ideal in this recipe. The majority of the time when I make this recipe I’m using leftover pork but you can just as easily create it all in one day.

First we’ll need some pork roast from the shop. You can even substitute a pork loin. Once home, take your pork and season with brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic, and 1 tablespoon each. Rub the seasoning all over the pork and allow the pork rest for about thirty minutes. You bake the roast at 300 degrees for 2 hours or just can place it into a toaster. The pork should come tender tender out.

Chop up your pork into a small dice and set aside. Now it is time to cook our noodles and prepare our BBQ Sauce. Any cheese will do, but I really like Monterrey Jack cheese’s taste. It’s then time once the noodles are cooked. We need to coating the pan’s bottom with a coating of BBQ Sauce. Put a layer of noodles on top of the sauce followed by some chopped pork and some cheese. Pour on top and repeat.

Once the lasagna is layered, place in your oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour. The smell of BBQ will take your kitchen over. Everyone will believe that you are making something traditional BBQ, but they’ll be amazed, if you pull this out of the oven. Once cooked, allow the lasagna rest. This will provide the casserole time get firm and to set up. I love to serve this with BBQ cheese toast on the side. Take some BBQ Sauce and some butter and mix together with some garlic, spread this over some bread and top with some cheese and bake for 5 minutes.
